Twitter

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

I was just watching the news and saw a story on twitter.com.  The site looks rather primitive right now but I’m guessing that it’ll grow quickly.  For those of you who like to let the world know what you’re up to via your IM status line, this thing just takes that to the extreme.  Check it out.  Add me as your friend.  I’m MXFiver.

Forecast is looking good

I’ll be leaving for Thailand this Saturday for CL’s sister’s wedding.  CL and I will be spending the first 4 days in Bangkok on our own, before heading to Phuket for the following 5 days, where the ceremony will be held.  Hopefully the weather forecast will be accurate.  It calls for rain in Bangkok starting on the day after we leave for Phuket.  And rain is supposed to stop in Phuket before we get there.  Sounds too good to be true….

The last half of our vacation will be spent in HK.  Not counting my last weekend stop there 6 years ago, my last visit would be in 1994!  I really look forward to the warm feeling of nostalgia that I experienced on my last visit.  Maybe I can even squeeze in a trip to China in there somewhere.

SGP Week #29

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

There’s a reason why I haven’t blogged about my league play since my last entry more than one month ago when I had my lifetime high - I’ve been playing terribly since then.  Right after that career high, I dropped to a season-low of 122 the following week.  I’d been climbing back up, very slowly, but then dropped back to a 140 tonight.

At the same time, I’d been asked to play as a sub for another team @ Club 300.  Since I had no history at that league, I was given a default handicap of 32, which was way too low.  Interestingly, I’d been able to keep up that high average.  It must be above 160 by now, after last Monday night when I scored a 170 average.

Anyway, I’ll be away for the next 3 weeks.  Hopefully I can forget about my current slump and start anew when I come back.  Or I can play like a beginner from lack of practice like after my last vacation :)
